Ubuntu 13.04 Release Countdown

A quick way to install (all) your favorite software in Ubuntu.

If you are like me, that is you often do a clean install of Linux, you might like a quick way to install your favorite software. I was getting bored with always installing the same packages again and again so i made a simple script that does that for me. It is in three sections:
#1. Adds the repositories that are needed and removes opennjdk
#2. Updates the system with the new repos.
#3. Installs

At the current moment it includes:

VLC, Texmaker, Terminator, nautilus-open-terminal, Filezila, Shutter, Wine, Spotify, unrar, zip, oracle java 7, compiz, Chromium, Dropbox, Open ssh, Netflix,  Adobe Reader


and some extras.

If there is something you don't like, just remove it, if there is something missing, just add it.


Using the script is simple, just download it here,
In terminal   cd Downloads
                    chmod 775 gimsi_install
                    ./gimsi_install

Then follow the the flow.

I am no expert bud this has worked for me. If there is something that you find that is wrong or not working, please let me know.

Svo er bara að vona að jólasveinninn verði góður þessi jólin. Ég er nú búinn að vera góður og fara snemma að sofa.    :-)

Credit card sized Linux based computer capable of most day to day tasks.

I have an 10 year old Toshiba next to my TV. It can't run XBMC or anything. Can't play .avi files in descent resolution. This amazing little thing will replace it with stile. It will interface perfectly with my FreeNas server and even do a full HD when I upgrade my TV. Can't wait.

Well now, how about that. Lets try.
